The origin of the name:

Once upon a time, when there were no telephones or paved roads in the region, Mónica Uboldi and Horacio Cattaneo, together with a French friend started breeding geese and duck.

The eggs were imported from France and incubated here.  Once the production got rolling, the fowl were used to make patés and foie gras obtaining a premium product that could compete with those imported from overseas.

As paté was a winter product, there was nothing to do in summer. Nearly as a hobby, during those months, Mónica canned fresh fruit and started making jam which she sold to the same clients who bought the paté. The rest is history.

These products were commercialised and sold at the best hotels and restaurants in Buenos Aires.

On this 12 hectare farm, as well As geese and duck, there were raspberry plantations and cherry orchards.

Only the brand, Masseube remains today in honour of a special breed of French geese which got them started.
